Make sure vulnerable witnesses have a voice.

As a Registered Intermediary, you’re there to make sure vulnerable witnesses have a voice. Whether in a criminal investigation or at trial, you can help them give their best evidence by ensuring they understand the questions and can communicate their answers.

Registered Intermediaries come from a wide variety of backgrounds including speech and language therapy, psychology, social work, and teaching. And right now, we’re looking to increase the number and range of people on our register.

You’ll work closely with victims, witnesses, the police, lawyers, the Crown Prosecution Service and the judiciary – sometimes in emotionally stressful and high-profile cases. You therefore need to be resilient and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will also need to be flexible, as you may have to assess a witness quickly and work around trial adjournments, the availability of police officers and other unpredictable issues.

Supporting vulnerable people in this way is enormously rewarding. As well as being remunerated for your time with professional fees and travel expenses, you can expect real job satisfaction. If you’re interested in applying, just click on the apply button link below:

The closing date for applications is midnight on 19th May 2015.
