Job overview

The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea is a superb place to work. Holland Park School became an academy in September 2013. The school is located in the hub of west Central London with excellent access to the underground network (Central, District and Circle lines) as well as speedy access to the A40, the A4 and South Circular. The new £80 million school is an inspiring environment in which to work and is located in Holland Park itself – a stunning setting and within very close proximity to the exclusive enclaves of Chelsea, Notting Hill, Kensington and Knightsbridge.

Judged as an outstanding school in November 2014 and with a RAISEonline profile in the top 2% of schools nationally. Such achievement is mirrored in the Sixth Form and students’ progress to first class university. It is an exemplary backdrop against which teachers can flourish. With an Investors in People Gold Award, it seeks to craft careers for energetic and committed teachers. Teachers benefit from a coaching and mentoring programme and what the school likes to consider an innovative and supportive programme of performance management.

The school attracts some notable friends: Alan Bennett, Simon Armitage and benefits from some high profile visitors, most recently Dr Rowan Williams. It has a close working ‘partnership’ with English National Opera, English National Ballet, The Prince’s Trust, and Leading Edge. The school is often a venue for other schools seeking to collaborate and understand why our students excel so far beyond that which is statistically expected of them.

We encourage you to read our website very carefully and familiarise yourself with our 2014 Ofsted report, our prospectus, candidate information pack and application form for the post. What will be clear to you is that you are applying to an extremely successful school and one with a decidedly clear ethos of achievement. The school’s results place it in the top 10% of schools nationally. We moved, in November 2012, into a brand new £80 million school. The school became an Academy in September 2013. The school is committed to developing its teachers and to fostering the development of outstanding teaching. Its approach is one of personalised staff development and action planning delivered through coaching and modelling of good practice.
