Job overview

Full Time, Permanent

Due to the retirement of a long standing member of staff, the Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Religious Education. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner to join a department which is highly successful and innovative in its social outreach work.

The position presents an excellent opportunity for a well-motivated teacher who is a practicing Catholic to develop their skills across all key stages and abilities up to KS5 in a stimulating and supportive environment. We invite both NQT’s and experienced teachers to apply. An interest in Music would be highly desirable as we are looking to further develop the Liturgical life of the school.

As a school founded by the Servite Sisters, our ethos is derived from and based on Servite Values. Those values include openness and respect for diversity therefore, whilst many of our teaching staff are not Catholic or Christian, all staff appreciate the strength of the faith community to which they belong. Acts of Worship are central to the life of the school and all members of the school community are included in the holistic vision of evangelisation as ‘shaping tomorrow, inspired by faith’. Our Marian commitment to service provides a working climate that enables teachers to thrive in their work; our girls are engaged learners, teachers can enjoy practicing their craft and students have a desire to achieve and have personal ambition.

Recently rebuilt with Building Schools for the Future (BSF) funding, with state of the art facilities, Our Lady's Convent High School is a Roman Catholic comprehensive secondary all-girls school situated in Stamford Hill (15 minutes direct link from Liverpool St), in the London Borough of Hackney.
