Excellent School Business Manager required to manage the finances and operations of our small school. Join a friendly, supportive team in a successful, growing school.

Hours of work: 3 days/week*

* Although the post is for 3 days/week for 52 weeks of the year, for the right person, there is a good deal of flexibility around the way these hours can be worked (for example, to allow someone to work just school hours and within term dates). There is also the possibility of a full-time role; please phone the school for more details.

St Luke's School was the first Church of England free school in the country. It opened in September 2011 to help meet a local shortage of primary school places. For this reason, children are admitted to the school by geography, so St Luke’s School is fully inclusive, welcoming families of all faiths. The school is growing one year group at a time; presently there are 60 children in the school.

We are now eager to recruit a School Business Manager who would be excited to manage the business and financial operations of our small school. This role is both strategic and operational, providing advice and support for the Senior Leadership Team and contributing to the continued development of the school.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a busy and varied environment, who may be looking for flexible working hours.

We will offer you:-

  • A friendly, welcoming and supportive staff team
  • Happy and enthusiastic children who like to learn and have fun
  • A unique opportunity to be fully involved in developing the school’s operation systems
  • First-rate CPD opportunities
  • Fully committed, supportive and knowledgeable governors

In return we ask for someone who has/is:

  • A team player, able to develop strong relationships and committed to playing an integral part in our friendly school team
  • Good interpersonal, communications and leadership skills
  • Highly organised and demonstrates vision, energy and enthusiasm for learning
  • Skilled in project management
  • Experience in managing and monitoring budgets
  • Self-motivated and shows initiative to work as a team or individually

Closing date: 5pm on Monday 20th April
Interview: Friday 24th April

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
