Salcombe is a thriving independent preparatory school for approximately 220 boys and girls aged between 3 and 11 years.

An opportunity to join this highly regarded school has arisen. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and well-organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills to join our hard-working team. Responsibilities will include finance, human resources, premises and health and safety. This is a new full time position within the school with the opportunity to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and with Cognita.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A proven track record of successfully managing an office.
  • Knowledge and experience of using a variety of accounting and other software packages to manage data and finances.
  • Experience of managing payroll.
  • Experience of managing human resources.
  • Experience of managing premises and/or premises staff.
  • Be committed to high standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The salary will be competitive (in the region of £40,000 – £43-000 dependent on experience)

History

Founded in 1918, Salcombe is a co-educational preparatory day school for children aged between 3 and 11. The school is situated on two neighbouring sites in Southgate, North London, and is served by excellent road and rail links.

Salcombe has a long tradition of success in preparing children for selective maintained and independent schools at 11+, as well as offering considerable opportunities for social, cultural and sporting activities.
