Poplars is a “Good” school seeking to employ an experienced and motivated School Business Manager for September 2015.

The successful candidate will have a strong financial and administrative background, with excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills.

Duties will include advising and working with the Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher and Governors in the areas of Finance, Compliance, Health & Safety and Administration.

Key responsibilities of this role will include the leadership of HR, Finance, Premises and Administration.

You will need to have experience in leading and motivating teams and a strong understanding of business and financial administration within the school environment.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A strategic thinker
  • Experienced at school business management, (ideal), or highly relevant finance and resources management (essential)
  • Highly organised
  • Skilled at managing systems and people
  • Able to think creatively and problem-solve
  • Innovative in using new technology to enhance efficiency and communication
  • Proficient in written communication
  • Excited by the prospect of playing a senior role in a vibrant school with an exciting future

Our School Business Manager will be a self-motivated, dynamic, innovative and experienced professional who can provide outstanding delivery of school services. This role has a wide and exciting remit and as a key member of our team you will contribute to the strategic direction of the school.

Key to this role will be your previous experience of providing high level administrative support, budgetary management and leading and motivating a friendly, hardworking committed team. Proven experience and understanding of school / public sector finance will be advantageous as will the CSBM qualification or a commitment to undertake this

The post requires a good ability to use a full range of ICT skills. Previous knowledge of school software (SIMS / FMS) is essential.

The post is full time, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm. A competitive salary is offered commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
