This is a key post in Haringey’s drive for continuous improvement for all Haringey Children. 100% of our secondary and special schools, 88% of primary and 2 out of 3 nursery schools are good or outstanding. It is an exciting place to work with an aspirational plan for excellence.

With proven successful primary leadership experience and possibly secondary or LA experience you will take the lead on identified school improvement initiatives and be School Improvement Adviser for a group of schools. Recent experience in implementing whole school strategies for raising achievement and school improvement is essential. Applications from serving headteachers or advisers on a secondment basis will be welcomed.

At this senior level, you will need:

  • a proven track record of school improvement
  • an excellent understanding of the context in which schools work and strategies to rapidly improve performance
  • existing accreditation as an Ofsted Inspector or recent experience of applying the Ofsted framework.
  • an understanding of the role of elected members
  • excellent communication skills
  • resilience
