School Liaison and Recruitment - Part Time 22 hours – Term time + 1 week

Join John Leggott College as a Learner Pathways Officer for School Liaison & Recruitment. As part of our dynamic LP team, your main role will be to promote JLC by coordinating, organising and hosting engaging events both on site and at secondary schools across the county. You will be a key contact who will proactively continue to develop the strong relationships with schools and the community whilst looking at new innovative ways in which to introduce the college.

For this role, you need to be an inspiring and confident presenter, who can encourage groups or in a 1 to 1 setting. You must be able to demonstrate a proven ability of balancing engagements within the working week with excellent time keeping and organisational skills. You must have flexibility to work across the region at events which will sometimes take place during the evening and occasionally, also on a Saturday (advance notice will be provided).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Confident and an inspiring presenter for groups or a 1 to 1 setting
  • Balancing of engagements within the working week
  • Flexibility to work across the region sometimes during the evening and occasionally (advance notice will be given)

 

YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience with working with young people.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent timekeeping
  • Attainment GCSE’s or equivalent, to include English and Maths at grade A-C.

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
