Join Our Team at Stamford Schools

We now have an exciting opportunity for a School Staff Instructor (SSI) to join our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at the Stamford Schools. The SSI is responsible for the day to day administration of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and acts as the military advisor to the School Principal and the Contingent Commander.

The CCF comprises of 3 sections: Royal Navy (RN), Army and Royal Air Force (RAF). Cadets elect to join the CCF at the start of Year 10 and may remain in the CCF until the end of Year 13. Membership of the CCF is entirely voluntary. The Contingent strength is approximately 230 cadets. The CCF is staffed by a part-time Contingent Commander, a full-time SSI and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs). CFAVs are drawn from the school’s teaching and support staff, and individuals who live or work in local area. The CCF is formally inspected every two years by a senior officer from one of the services.

Training takes place during term time on Friday evenings, from 1640 to 1745 (subject to review academic year 24/25). Additional training takes place after school, at weekends and during the school holidays. The majority of the training is conducted at the St Paul’s site, where the CCF has access to the school’s classrooms, playgrounds and playing fields. The CCF has its own stores, classroom, offices and an indoor, 25m, .22 rifle range.

The Stamford Schools have been educating students since 1532. Our Schools have a long and prestigious heritage, but everything we do at Stamford is focused on preparing young people to lead happy and fulfilling lives in the 21st century. At the start of the academic year 2023-2024 Stamford Schools opened its doors for the first time to teach students co-educationally at all stages as Stamford High School and Stamford School merged.

Stamford strives to offer an outstanding, contemporary education in which students develop the ability to think for themselves and to interpret the world around them. Every child at Stamford is encouraged to be an independent thinker and take the lead in their own education. Our students leave us with a flexible, adaptable mindset and an approach to learning that equips them to face the challenges and opportunities of their future.

Stamford is a dynamic, vibrant, modern, and exciting school, built on the strengths of five centuries of learning, with a resolute focus on preparing our students for 2030 and beyond. Our students leave Stamford as rounded and grounded young people, ready for life beyond education. At the heart of our all our schools is the focus on academic ambition, pastoral excellence, and the opportunity for students to become the very best version of themselves.

What is our vision at Stamford?

Stamfordians are future facing, divergent independent thinkers, emotionally intelligent and fully equipped to challenge and thrive. ‘Rounded and grounded’ is the hallmark of a Stamfordian student.

Team, Fire, Spirit – these are our School values
