Job overview

If you are looking for an opportunity to join a happy, high-achieving school where the value of science is championed by the senior leadership team and where you will be grown and supported, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

We seek someone with the potential, skills, and drive to be a great deputy head of science to join our dynamic science department in a key leadership role by joining our passionate team of educators dedicated to fostering curiosity and scientific inquiry in our students.

Here's what we offer:

Collaborative team environment: Work alongside experienced and supportive colleagues who share a commitment to excellence in science education. We collaborate on lesson planning, share best practice, and inspire each other to innovate.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Take advantage of personalised CPD opportunities tailored to your professional interests and career aspirations. Enhance your teaching skills, stay updated on the latest pedagogical techniques, and expand your subject knowledge.

Brand new labs and excellent resources: Enjoy working in modern, fully equipped laboratories designed to facilitate innovative and interactive science lessons and create an environment conducive to exploration, experimentation, and discovery. Our skilled science technician is here to assist you in preparing experiments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe learning environment for all.

An exciting wider curriculum including a GCSE Astronomy Course, a diverse range of extra-curricular activities, a vibrant science club, separate science GCSE, competitions, science week and trips. These opportunities provide students with hands-on experiences outside the classroom and foster a love for science beyond the curriculum.

We would love to hear from you if you think our wonderful school and this interesting and challenging role could be for you.

We are a great school with excellent facilities that value and care for our staff. We are financially secure, with the resources to support our ambitions and make things happen.
