General info on GALILEO SCHOOL

GALILEO SCHOOL is a private English language bilingual school which serves children aged 3 to 19.

GALILEO SCHOOL prepares students for further education, professional and personal life within Europe and beyond. Our graduates are well prepared to study in both the national and international context. Students gain profound English language skills along with broad foundations in a variety of subjects within the curriculum. The key component of our educational philosophy is additive bilingualism, which develops both the mother tongue and the English language.

The factors that contribute to the high quality of education at GALILEO SCHOOL include a small number of pupils per class (maximum 16); lessons that motivate and engage students, differentiated targets based on individual abilities of each child, modern equipment, and experienced teachers who are innovative and ambitious. The programme at GALILEO SCHOOL fulfils the requirements for intensive language education as well as those set out by the Ministry of Education. The language of instruction is English and is complemented with original British and American textbooks. Students prepare for a variety of language and subject examination such as GCE A levels, International GCSE, YLE, IELTS, S.A.T. We are registered with British Council, Edexcel, UCAS, ECNAIS and accredited by the Education Ministry of Slovakia.

Bratislava is the capital city of Slovakia and Slovakia is a member of the EU. It is a charming city spread on the both banks of the Danube river. Being the capital means that it is the best-equipped city in Slovakia and has the most well-developed tourist facilities.

With its position in central Europe, Bratislava is easy to reach. It is located just an hour from Vienna, two hours from Budapest and three hours from Prague, the three wonderful capital cities. Other European countries can also be reached by low-cost flights from Bratislava International Airport.

Galileo School is a private all-though school in Bratislava, Slovakia. The city is the country’s capital and has a population of around 450,000.The school programme fulfils requirements for intensive language education, as well as those set out by the Ministry of Education. Classes are taught primarily in English, with Slovak offered as an additional course and mathematics taught in both languages. There are approximately 16 students per class, ensuring a close personal connection between learner and staff. The school is named for the 16th century astronomer and mathematician.

On the understanding that people tend to forget what they hear and remember what they see, education at Galileo is centred around visual stimuli. After receiving an exceptional educational experience at the school, may students go on to study in the UK at some of the most prestigious universities in the world, including Oxford and Cambridge. Since 2013 Galileo School

has worked in partnership with Microsoft to offer distance learning for students across Slovakia. Each year the school provides a summer camp, providing education in the form of interactive games with intense tuition of the English language. The camp also incorporated international themes and events, such as baking Italian pizza, making a Egyptian headdress and learning about the gods of Ancient Greece.
