Outwood Academy Freeston is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Science. About our Science Department

We have nine teachers, a specialist science teaching assistant, a science technician and a one-to-one science tutor. The department is fully staffed and this appointment is to enable the school to build capacity in advance of need. The department is a combination of experienced staff and more recent entrants to the profession. Teaching takes place in the department’s 8 labs. Every lab and classroom have a visualiser and a large interactive television screen; these are used extensively by the team. 

You will be well supported by an experienced team of teachers and Directors as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging curriculum experience that focuses on teaching for understanding.

The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of teaching schools through Outwood Institute of Education.
