Values and Vision

The International School of Penang (Uplands) has a mantra which states: ‘Respect for Self, Respect for Others’. The school hopes for students to grow into mature, independent citizens of the international, and local, community. All children should feel safe and cared for while on the premises. Teachers are happy to give as much support as they need during their time at the school. Students who are respectful of others, who are kind and tolerant are valued by the educational establishment. Pupils should have a creative outlook when it comes to learning and show a lot of enthusiasm for the subjects they are learning. The hope is for them to become life-long learners. Everyone is seen and treated as equals by the school and the students are taught about the diverse society they live within. The curriculum that is taught is well-balanced and enriching. Students are encouraged to follow a healthy lifestyle. They should also, hopefully, develop morally, culturally, spiritually and socially.
