Position Overview:

TLC Private School in Peyia, Cyprus, is seeking a dedicated and innovative IT Teacher to join our secondary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Pearson curriculum in Computer Science & Information Technology to students, preparing them for both the practical and theoretical aspects of IT, and equipping them with the skills needed for success in the digital age. This role requires a deep understanding and passion for technology, and a commitment to providing a stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities:

- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the Pearson IT curriculum, meeting the diverse needs of our students.

- Foster an environment of critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through the use of technology.

- Prepare students for Pearson examinations, ensuring they meet or exceed benchmark standards.

- Integrate the latest technology and teaching tools into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.

- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and interventions as needed to promote student achievement.

- Maintain up-to-date records of lesson plans, assignments, and student grades.

- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to support student learning and progress.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of new technologies and pedagogical strategies.


Requirements:

- Right to work in the EU.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Teaching qualification relevant to the secondary education level (e.g., PGCE, BEd with QTS) an advantage but not mandatory.

- Proven experience in teaching IT within a secondary school environment.

- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages and IT skills relevant to the curriculum.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

- Commitment to continuous professional development.


Desired Attributes:

- Master’s degree or further specialization in Information Technology or Education Technology.

- Experience in an international school setting.

- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and blended learning approaches.

- Active participation in IT-related extracurricular activities or clubs.
