Quest Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed SEN Class Teacher for our Key Stage 1 ELP (Enhanced Learning Provision) to join our team.

We are a welcoming and supportive school, who work as a team to deliver the best possible outcomes and experiences for our pupils, working alongside parents, carers, TCT staff and external professionals.

This role is permanent and the successful candidate will work as a job share with our existing KS1 ELP teacher. We can be flexible and offer this role as either a 3 day per week (0.6 FTE) or a 4 day per week (0.8 FTE) role. 

What does the role involve?

The main aim of the role is to provide classroom teaching to our class of EYFS and KS1 stage pupils, all of whom have additional needs and a range of SEND needs. You will follow our bespoke ELP Curriculum and assessment procedures, which is designed to prioritise the children’s needs and support them to make the most progress in those areas which will have the greatest impact on their life chances. It centres around there focus areas: communication and interaction; social, emotional wellbeing and mental health; and independence and self help and preparation for adulthood (life skills). Key documents such as EHCPs and SALT programme also inform regular interventions/planning. You will also provide pastoral support to the children, building professional relationships that develop their confidence, resilience and learning behaviours so they feel happy and safe in school. You will also be asked to lead a curriculum subject area across the school.

Who are we looking for?

Our Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) is for 14 pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and split into 2 classes of approximately 7 children each. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for working with children with special educational needs and is committed to making a difference to their everyday experiences and life chances. Your communication skills, understanding of how SEN children learn, communicate and may behave, flexibility, ability to multi-task, prioritise and work within a small team in a busy environment are essential.
