SEN Class Teacher

For over 40 years, Dubai Center for Special Needs has been a leading Center of excellence in Dubai dedicated to providing special education, multi-disciplinary therapeutic interventions and vocational training to students of determination. 

We are looking for SEN Class Teachers to join our excellent team to provide an outstanding educational program and learning environment that guides and encourages special needs students to develop and reach their full potential.

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities in line with lesson plans that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Write IEP’s for each student which includes, present level of functioning, short and long term goals
• Establish an effective learning environment to promote learning and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• When required, work in partnership with the Head of Teaching regarding class management, behaviour modification, etc
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with the relevant members of staff in assessments, objective setting, programme writing and monitoring
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities, ensuring that the instructional resources meet each students varying needs and are linked to the curriculum
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Observe, evaluate and record each student's performance and development
• Regularly communicate to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
• Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
• Prepare songs or a small class performance monthly for assemblies
• Keep up to date with developments in subject areas, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
• Any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Head of Teaching and/or the Director
