As a Trust, we are looking to appoint an SEN Specialist Teacher for Cognition and Learning, to further enhance the provision for our most vulnerable children, working across our secondary schools. You will be working closely with other experienced SEN Specialist Teachers, as well as external specialist services, including Educational Psychologists.

They key responsibilities for this post are as follows (a comprehensive job description and a person specification are both available):

  • To empower and enable schools within the Trust to meet the needs of children with SEND, helping to build capacity by developing knowledge, skills and understanding.

  • To engage with other services and colleagues within and beyond the Arden Multi Academy Trust to help ensure schools have the services and support they require to meet the needs of the children, young people and families they serve.

We welcome applications from specialist teachers who may seek either a full-time or part-time position. While enabling you to enjoy the advantages of working across several of our schools, many of our specialist teachers find the increased consistency and sense of belonging that we offer appealing. You may also want some consistency in terms of employment to complement your independent business. We acknowledge the significant impact our specialist teachers have on student outcomes; hence we may consider accommodating a request to maintain a teaching group in one of our secondary schools if desired by a candidate. This presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated specialist teacher to positively influence our young learners within a growing multi-academy trust and contribute to our inclusion provision.
