Job overview

As the SENCo at Kensington Avenue Primary School, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) across the school. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional who possesses the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in leading and managing SEND provisions in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the latest government legislation and best practices in relation to SEND.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead and inspire a team of teachers and support staff, setting high expectations and implementing successful strategies to raise the attainment and well-being of students with SEND.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies, building strong partnerships to support the needs of children with SEND.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Proficiency in conducting assessments, providing tailored support and intervention plans, and evaluating progress to ensure continuous improvement.
