Job overview

Following a recent staff restructuring an exciting new post has been created for a SENCO to work in both schools. The Governors wish to appoint an inspirational non class based SENCO, committed to excellence, to join both staff teams.

This is a unique and exciting professional development opportunity to lead on the provision for our SEND children across three phases (Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two), in two schools which are located within walking distance of one another.

The Governors are looking for a SENCo who:

  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and be an outstanding teacher
  • Has an excellent understanding of the interventions available to pupils and a proven track record of effective implementation
  • Has a passion for the teaching and learning of SEND pupils and raising their attainment and life chances
  • Understands the importance of ‘narrowing the gap’ and ensuring all pupils meet their full potential
  • Has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the energy and enthusiasm to play a key role in both schools with high expectations of both themselves and others
  • Can manage and support others
