Hawes Down Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented SENCo Support Assistant to assist in managing, supporting and delivering provision for pupils identified [or in the process of being identified] as having special educational needs and disabilities (SEND); including promoting high quality interventions, effective use of resources, high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils and supporting the SENCo in her role.

An ability to work as part of a team with our friendly and supportive staff as well as being able to work independently and using your own initiative is essential. This role includes supervision of children during break and lunchtimes.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all our staff. We particularly welcome applicants from ethnic minority backgrounds as they are currently under-represented on our staff body. We recognise the vital contribution that members of a diverse team make to our students learning. The range of cultural experiences, differing viewpoints and role models this brings is essential in our Trust and we recognise the gap that would be left in our offering without these.

Hawes Down Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and references.

Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for this post before submitting an application. To apply, please complete the attached application form and return to office@hdps.org.uk for the attention of Mrs Rowedder.

If you do not receive a reply by Thursday 18th April, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
