JFS is an oversubscribed, mixed, comprehensive, voluntary-aided Jewish school. Applications from teachers of faith or non-faith backgrounds are most welcome.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, motivated professional to lead and manage SEND provision throughout the School. Effective from 1 September 2015, you will have an expertise in addressing the needs of autistic children, will lead a team of five specialist teachers and 14 TAs and will play a pivotal rôle with Senior Leadership in working towards specific outcomes for students on Education Health Care Plans and those who with additional needs who feature in our Inclusion Register. He or she will be innovative and passionate about making a difference and committed to a vision that all students should be enabled to make the maximum progress possible.

JFS has an enviable record in supporting students with SEN. The School provides an enriching educational experience where students, regardless of barriers to learning, often make accelerated progress. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity which will have a significant impact on the future direction of the School.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • very good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • a successful track record of excellence in the classroom;

  • knowledge of the new Code of Practice.

The School achieves excellent examination results within a warm, disciplined and caring family environment. Last year, JFS was re-accredited with Investors in People status and achieved the Gold Award. In the last three years, we have also been awarded Investor in Careers status and the Challenge Award of the National Association for Gifted and Talented Students (NACE). For the fourth year running, the Daily Telegraph League Tables showed us in the top three totally non-selective schools in the country.

Our modern campus is on a 26-acre greenfield site. We have superb facilities and all classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards.
