Old Sarum Primary School is part of the Magna Learning Partnership Academy Trust which comprises of three secondary schools, a sixth form college and six primary schools. Old Sarum Primary is established at the heart of a local expanding community on the outskirts of Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Old Sarum Primary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate SENDCO with an additional exciting whole school leadership responsibility as a member of the SLT. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our committed team and make a significant difference to the lives of our children and families.

We are looking for a person who will share the school’s vision, values and journey for sustained improvement. We are also looking for someone who is passionate about Inclusion and meeting the needs of all children and is able to:

  • Have overall leadership of SEND within the academy
  • Work as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, with the Head Teacher and the governing body, in determining the strategic development of SEN policy and provision in the school
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the operation of SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision made to support individual pupils with SEN, including those who have EHC plans
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues and work closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Be an excellent teacher with a thorough understanding of adaptive provision.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant SENDCO qualification
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues to achieve excellence.
  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of practice and its application.
  • A track record of raising attainment and progress for children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a reflective approach to practice.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
