Senior Assessment and Planning Manager: Inclusion, SEN & Disability (ISEND) Statutory Assessment and Planning Service

East Sussex has high aspirations for our newly configured services to support children with additional and special educational needs and disabilities; we are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our management team to help us realise our vision.

Working within ISEND Statutory Education Assessment and Planning Services,  as a Senior Manager, you will lead and manage the Assessment and Planning team to:

  • Ensure that all statutory and commissioned requirements are met  through effective inter-agency working.
  • Deliver agreed outcomes for children and young people with special education needs (SEN)
  • Contribute to the department’s and wider County Council’s policy and strategy for children and young people with (SEN).

We are looking for a manager with a sound knowledge of the new SEND reforms, a strong commitment to developing effective casework practice within a newly configured team, to ensure staff are confident in their work with families; building strong relationships with a range of partners including Independent and Non Maintained settings and parents to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND 0 - 25.  This will include working with key partners and other teams to achieve full integration of education health and care planning with families, promoting children and young people’s participation in the planning process. You will be part of an integrated management team ensuring high quality assessment planning and provision are in place for children and young people who meet statutory assessment criteria.

You will have excellent leadership and management skills, an ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a range of professionals to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people and a background in education.
