Scale Point 22-31 (£20,253 – £27,123) dependent on skills and experience
West Midlands Construction UTC (WMCUTC) is looking for inspirational staff to help shape an innovative approach to education.

About Us

University Technical Colleges (UTCs) offer students a revolutionary education that combines academic rigour with industry standard technical training: WMCUTC focuses on preparing students for professional careers in a modern, thriving Construction industry that is rich in cutting edge IT.

We are co-sponsored by Europe’s largest construction skills training provider, CITB and the University of Wolverhampton. Together our sponsors ensure that the quality of our curriculum is of the highest educational standards whilst tied closely to the reality of a rapidly changing industry in order to meet our students’ needs. The UTC is also working in partnership with over 60 employers who ensure that we are able to support our students into their chosen career. Through this support we are able to offer individual industry mentors for all students and staff, and deliver an employer led, project based curriculum. Students will be prepared for a range of roles across the sector including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction Management and associated IT roles.

We are looking for an experienced ICT Technician to support the use of ICT in our innovative programme. Our technicians will also perform a secondary support role for classes and students within their subject area and will perform a vital task in helping to ensure that our students will achieve their very best.
The role will grow as the UTC does: as the ICT team grows the post holder may be able to take a leading role in the formation of a technician team within the UTC.

The Role

We will be employing only the very best teachers and support staff whose primary focus will be to drive academic excellence alongside technical proficiency. You will be highly presentable and will demonstrate:

• A high level of technical knowledge and understanding
• Experience of acting as a ICT Technician
• A willingness to work with young people in support of their studies.

This post is advertised as a Full Time role. Applicants with particularly impressive skills and experiences may discuss expanding their responsibilities and negotiate suitably adjusted pay scale. Please contact Tom Macdonald to discuss either of these opportunities.

In return the UTC offers:

• Competitive salary and bonus scheme
• Supported training and further study (including financial support)
• Personal Mentor from Industry
