The School of Education is one of the largest providers of teacher education in the country and has a long-standing reputation for producing outstanding teachers.
 
A suitably qualified and experienced person is required to teach Science and Design and Technology to Primary and Early Years trainee teachers and to work with schools to provide high quality training and continuing professional development in school settings.

The School of Education works in partnership with a wide range of schools, colleges and Early Years settings across the region.

The successful candidate will have experience of working as a teacher of Science and Design and Technology in a primary or early years setting, and as a mentor for initial teacher education, as well as having had successful experience providing professional development for colleagues.  You may already be working in Teacher Education in an HEI or SCITT. A first degree in a Science and/or Design and Technology related discipline is required.  QTS is essential and a higher degree preferred.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will develop his/her own teaching and pedagogic practice as well as engaging in research and scholarly activity.
