Job overview

Job Phase: Early Years, Primary, Special Educational Needs
Grade: Soulbury 19 – 22 (plus 3 SPA points)

Liverpool’s proportion of primary/nursery pupils attending schools judged by Ofsted to be good or better is higher than the national average, but city stakeholders are aspirational to reach 100%.

We are committed making Liverpool’s educational provision the best in the country and to making School Improvement Liverpool one of the leading educational services in the country.

To do this, we need outstanding colleagues who can bring out the best in others.

About the Role

Due to a long-serving colleague returning to headship, Liverpool’s well-respected Primary Senior School Improvement team is seeking a new officer. After our very successful recruitment in the spring term, we are confident we will be able find another highly-skilled individual to join our friendly and hard-working team.

You will have an exciting, high-profile role in offering bespoke services to meet widely varying school needs in an innovative city with worldwide links.

You will join an effective and creative group of professionals making a significant contribution to Liverpool’s educational improvements and successes.

Personal Qualities

You will have a history of proven success in senior leadership within the primary sector – either at school level, or in school support & challenge work at LA or large network level.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work collaboratively are essential for this role as our team members regularly engage in demanding, formative partnerships with Liverpool’s strategic and forward-thinking Headteachers.

How to apply

If you are professionally ambitious, dedicated to improving children’s life-chances through excellent education and would enjoy the challenges of a fast-moving role in a vibrant city, we would love to hear from you!

For an informal discussion please contact Alison Green or Malik Killen, telephone 0151 233 3901.

Applications should be emailed to angela.doherty@si.liverpool.gov.uk to arrive no later than midday on 8th May 2015.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 14th May 2015.
