About Morley College

Established in 1889, and with our roots stretching back even further, Morley College London is one of the country's oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education. We provide long-term, sustainable and affordable programmes of lifelong learning across three centres – North Kensington, Chelsea and Waterloo – including 16-19 provision at North Kensington and Chelsea.

As one of only nine Specialist Designated Institutions (SDIs) in the UK, we serve more than 17,000 students through a coherent, student-centred course offer, underpinned by our mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities through education in Arts, Culture and Applied Sciences. Whether studying for personal development and well-being, to gain essential skills (English, Maths, IT), to access higher education, or for career development or change, our vision is for ambitions to be inspired and achieved through learning.

Morley College London aims to have a workforce that is as reflective of the diverse population that it serves. The College particularly encourages applications from ethnic minorities and disabled people who are currently under-represented within the College at this level.

We are a collaborative community, which Ofsted recently recognised as Good with Outstanding features and TEF rated Gold.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and children’s barred list check.

About the role

We are seeking a Sessional Tutor on a fixed term basis for a group of highly motivated mature adult students, who have been attending this class for over 20 years. They are passionate about Italian culture and literature and have developed friendly relationships with one another, organising occasional trips to local museums to enrich their learning.

When it comes to languages, Morley College prides itself on its ability to deliver lessons in a fun and friendly classroom environment. Lessons are practical with plenty of opportunity for learners to practise their skills. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively and are helped to use technology as a learning tool, at the same time as maximising traditional (person-to-person) communication for a variety of contexts.

The successful candidate will have enthusiasm and a love of the subject, with delivery weekly for 2 hours on a Monday afternoon from 1-3pm.

Morley’s Waterloo Centre for Adult Education is one of the UK’s oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education, founded in 1889 by activist, feminist and educationalist Emma Cons.

Our Waterloo Centre is here for the curious – for those who want to learn while joining others in their pursuit of knowledge. It’s a cultural hub for adults.

A place to learn and discuss what you’ve learnt since 1889. Because it’s not just about what you learn – whether it’s a new language, sound engineering, jewellery making, childcare, medicine or maths – it’s about the people you meet along your journey.

Ever since our inception, we’ve believed that education and socialisation go hand in hand. So our Waterloo Centre for Adult Education offers the courses you need to continue your education. It’s a place to continue learning – from us and each other.

Our expert tutors are well-known professionals in their fields, with bags of knowledge and passion. So you could experience learning with artists, musicologists, scientists and more.
