This is a Fixed Term Contract until 8 July /2016 for Approximately 18 hours per week, term time only (36 weeks per year)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to provide Sign Supported English to a hearing impaired student on a Level 2 Hospitality and Catering course. The LSA will be responsible for supporting the student during kitchen and restaurant sessions, theory lessons and any functional skills / GCSE English and Maths lessons they will need to attend. The student is also required to attend an evening restaurant session, where the LSA will also be required to support.
Applicants should possess good communication skills along with GCSE English and Maths Grade C or equivalent. In order to be considered for this role you MUST have experience of working with students with hearing impairments as well as possessing a BSL L2 qualification. Previous experience of support work in a similar environment will also be an advantage.
N/B: This role is dependent upon the student returning to College for the upcoming academic year: 2015/ 2016.
