Heyford Park Free School has a vacancy for a Site Manager; this is an exciting opportunity for a well qualified and experienced individual to play a lead role in our new school. Full Training and support will be available. We are seeking to employ a flexible, dynamic and enthusiastic Site Manager.  The applicant needs to be active, willing to be part of a small but friendly team, flexible in their approach and diligent with performing H&S checks. Our ideal candidate will have a mature approach, cheerful disposition and be prepared to undertake a variety of tasks which are detailed on the job description. Experience of this type of work would be of benefit but general life experience is also acceptable.

Purpose of the role:

Under the direction/instruction of appropriate senior staff, provide maintenance and security services, together with health and safety administration, on school sites and premises

The role includes responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Security of school sites
  • Health and safety administration and related records
  • Premises maintenance and site management
  • Co-ordination of cleaning
  • Awareness of and compliance with school policies and ethos

The successful candidate will have:

  • Flexibility in working hours, including evening and weekend work as required
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent DIY skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to adapt to deal with pupils (age 4 -18), parents, staff, governors, a wide range of school visitors
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Resilience to cope with the demands of opening a brand new school and the move to future school premises
  • Commitment, enthusiasm and positive ‘can do’ attitude
