Contract: Permanent, Full time (with some teaching commitments), Term Time +5 days

Salary Scale: MPS 1-6 (£30,000 - £46,525) + SEN Allowance

Do you have a strong commitment to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND?

We are looking to appoint an excellent SENDCo who will be responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day operation of the SEND provision at St Giles Academy (part of Harbour Learning Trust).

The SENDCo will have:

  • a strong pastoral background with demonstrable experience and knowledge in the SEND field;
  • an evidence-informed understanding of approaches that support students with SEND to be successful;
  • high expectations of all students to be able to succeed;
  • excellent interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong relationships;
  • drive and enthusiasm through which you can work with the senior leadership team in developing the SEND provision;
  • qualified SENDCo status or be willing to complete the training to achieve the qualification.

It is important for us to ensure that we are continually improving provision and outcomes for all our students. As a SENDCo, you’ll be an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering interventions with pupils in the classroom and implementing the school strategy. There will also be some classroom teaching duties.

This is a really exciting opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working with children who have SEND and to develop this role with a committed and supportive team to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.
