What we are looking for:
Applicants must be qualified teachers, with a UK or internationally recognised equivalent qualification. Familiarity with the English National Curriculum is essential, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience of teaching is desirable. We will also consider applications from successful NQTs interested in beginning their careers in an international environment.
Specialist Teacher of SEN
The SEN department works with a range of learning needs including ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. Students are supported in core subjects and provided with advice and training in the use of learning tools and strategies. The SEN teacher and department provide teacher support and training as well as resources on inclusion and differentiated materials.
The ideal candidate will:
- Enjoy working within a stimulating and innovative teaching and learning environment
- Be in possession of a recognized teaching qualification in SEN or equivalent
- Be caring, patient and self-motivated, and able to work with a culturally diverse clientele
- Be conversant in SEN terms and display a progressive approach to teaching and learning
- Be willing to be an effective member of a dynamic SEN team and work closely with colleagues in all subject areas, providing inclusion advice and support
- Be familiar with and confident in writing IEPs
- Have experience supporting and teaching students with SEN issues as well as Gifted students
- Be able to make a contribution to the extra- curricular programme and parent meetings
- Be computer literate and able to administrate online tests and screenings
- Appreciate the cultural and historical importance of the city of Al Ain
