Sherrardswood School is an Independent Co-Educational School for Boys and Girls aged 2 ½ - 18 and is set in 25 acres of beautiful grounds in the Hertfordshire countryside.  We are a friendly, thriving school with small classes throughout.  We are looking to fill the following vacancies from September 2015.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic & highly motivated specialist science teachers to teach KS3-5 classes & develop lifelong learners in science. Our science department  is expanding with more & more students choosing our already popular & successful science subjects at  A Level. Working in collaboration with our dynamic science team, you will be able to show the motivation, organisation & commitment required to achieve ambitious targets & exceed expectations both within the department & for the school as a whole.
Do you want to lead & develop staff in all aspects of teaching & learning in science? There is the opportunity to be considered for the Post of Head of Science for a suitable qualified & experienced Physics or Chemistry candidate.

Successful Candidates must:

  • Have a good proven track record in raising attainment  accelerating progress
  • Be an excellent teacher with consistently ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ classroom practice
  • Have high expectations of themselves & others
  • Be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent subject knowledge  
  • Encourage investigative & practical work in science & drive learning
  • Be a flexible & a good team player
