We are seeking to appoint someone who will teach and inspire across the Key Stages and can contribute to our full extra-curricular programme.

Courses on offer include:

Core Physical Education, GCSE’s in PE and Dance. BTEC’s in Health and Social Care and Sport. AS/A2 PE, BTEC Nationals in Health and Social Care, Sport and Dance. We also deliver Primary PE within local schools as well as offering the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The department won the Youth Sport Trust Innovation Award for Sport and Outstanding Young Person Award in 2015.

As a Teaching School we offer outstanding CPD opportunities. Ofsted graded our work as Outstanding in the recent inspections in November 2009 and February 2011.

About King Alfred's Academy

King Alfred’s Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Wantage, Oxfordshire. It is an academy converter supported by Vale Academy Trust, a South Oxfordshire multi-academy trust that supports eight other schools in the area.

A larger than average secondary school, King Alfred’s provides 2,205 places for students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed. Current number on roll is 1700. The school converted to academy status in August 2011.
