Job overview

This position would suit a teacher with a proven track record of outstanding practice who wishes to embrace the challenge of joining our school at an exciting stage of its' development. The ability to work with young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties is essential. A subject specialism is not the priority, but versatility, innovation, enthusiasm and teaching expertise will be. At a time of National Change within SEN and a growing team of staff in school, we seek a candidate who will be able to help us continue to develop an exciting and challenging curriculum and work within an integrated SEN provision for students having difficulty accessing the mainstream environment.

Heartlands High School opened in September 2010. It has developed a highly successful Learning Support Faculty within this time and is a highly regarded Faculty within the school and within the Local Authority. As such we have a significantly higher number than average students within mainstream with Education , Health and Care Plans, and significant barriers to their Learning. We have exciting plans to further expand and develop our provision through this appointment

The successful applicant will join a very committed, collaborative and forward-thinking school, which offers a very personalised and rigorous approach to meet the needs of young people. Our team of staff are highly professional and dedicated and they expect the highest standards of behaviour from the students, while exploring every avenue in improving teaching and learning.

Support and development:

At Heartlands, we use School IP to track and support training and ongoing CPD. Depending on your need and level of experience, you will be placed on a training pathway.

The CPD plan is released in September each year and includes a range of internal training sessions before and after school as well as on inset days.
