Exciting educational improvement roles in Suffolk

Suffolk is a unique county. With its mix of large towns, beautiful coastal villages and rural communities Suffolk has an individual culture with a strong sense of place and community. Raising educational attainment is the number one priority for the council and through our 'Raising the Bar' programme we are working with schools, early years settings, businesses, parents and young people to ensure that every child in our county reaches their potential, attends a good or outstanding school and is given the best preparation for life before and beyond school. This is an exciting time to be joining Education and Learning in Suffolk but it does not come without its challenges and we are now seeking to recruit a range of people to help lead our service and ensure we maintain excellent services through an intense period of transformation and integration.

We are looking for people who have a real passion for improving outcomes for the children and young people of Suffolk and can offer:

  • significant experience of leading school improvement with clear evidence of impact
  • experience of quality assurance in an educational improvement setting
  • good knowledge of the inspection framework and may be an accredited Ofsted inspector
  • successful educational leadership experience.

The above job will require travel, so you must be willing and able to travel across Suffolk. A summary of the role available is shown below but please get in touch for an informal chat or more information.

The Standards and Excellence team makes an important contribution to school improvement, raising pupil attainment and ensuring social inclusion. Standards and Excellence Officers support schools and settings through rigorous analysis and interpretation of school, locality, area and national performance data to inform targeted challenge and support as well as building on existing strengths.

For an informal discussion, please contact Nikki Edwards, Assistant Director Education and Learning, on (01473) 264567 or at nikki.edwards@suffolk.gov.uk
