Required from September 2015, we are looking for a passionate artist with the necessary management skills to lead and continue the success of this outstanding department.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Subject Leader of Art to lead this successful and dynamic department. You will be expected to lead and manage the curriculum area by providing strategic direction as to what the learning in the area will look like in the future, encouraging innovation, research and evaluating student performance and leading on strategies that increase achievement.

You will want to drive changes in teaching and learning and be confident about the impact you can make as a leader, on student achievement and the growth of the Art and Photography Department.

This exciting and challenging post is an ideal opportunity for an excellent teacher looking for the next step in leadership.

Applicants for the post should have successful teaching experience and if appointed you will be required to teach Art and Design at Key Stages 3, 4, 5 and it would be desirable to have experience of teaching Photography at Key Stages 4 and 5.

Set in the beautiful Chiltern countryside, Amersham School is a mixed, 11-18 Community Academy providing a first class secondary education.  We have 860 students on roll including 143 in Sixth Form (as at February 2018).
