We are one of the largest awarding bodies in the UK, with a portfolio of qualifications consisting of industry-relevant qualifications, as well as GCSEs and A Levels in a wide range of subjects. Our aim is to develop qualifications and resources that support best practice in teaching, learning and assessment, enable the build and delivery of innovative and engaging curricula and are clearly aligned to the education community’s needs

OCR is recruiting a subject specialist for its expanding Education and Learning teams, based in Cambridge. This is an opportunity to join dynamic, outward-facing teams working closely with our customers and stakeholders.

You role will be focussed on developing the Critical Thinking AS Level qualification through:

  • Researching customer demand and needs for the Critical Thinking AS Level qualification with stakeholder groups including HE
  • Working with subject experts to develop new specification content and assessment materials
  • Commissioning innovative support to extend the reach and impact of our Critical Thinking qualification
  • Supporting customers in delivering the qualification

You will have responsibility for the development of Critical Thinking, liaising closely with our GQ Reform team to develop and submit a new AS Level qualification for accreditation. You will be passionate about Critical Thinking and able to be an ambassador for it with schools, the regulator and stakeholders at all levels. Providing high quality customer service will be very important to you.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following expertise and experience:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the place of Critical Thinking in the curriculum and its value to learners
  • Experience of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time
  • A business mindset with commercial and financial awareness
  • Knowledge of assessment within Critical Thinking
  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences
  • A can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills

Teaching experience including Critical Thinking is highly desirable.

The closing date for applications is 27 April 2015 and interviews will take place week commencing 04 May 2015.

The successful applicant should be in a position to join OCR in June 2015.
