Job overview

We are looking to appoint an exceptional classroom teacher who demonstrates high standards of delivery in a consistent manner, who is committed to maintaining and improving upon the excellent levels of achievement across the subject and who understands the strategies required to accomplish this. You must be a strong leader with the ability to inspire both staff and students. You will support the Vice Principal when and where appropriate, to ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum. You will be responsible for leading and developing the subject area as well as enhancing the teaching practice of others. You will monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the subject area as well as undertaking the role of Form Tutor.

Students are encouraged to participate in sport regularly to help develop their skills, to develop positive attributes towards competition, respect for the rules and etiquette towards others. Our curriculum is set to encourage students to lead an active, healthy lifestyle, whilst providing opportunities for them to develop a range of skills and understanding of health and fitness at Key Stage 3. We provide opportunities in a wide range of sports from Netball, Basketball, Football, Rugby, Dance, Gymnastics, Fitness, Cross Country, Swimming, Athletics, Cricket, Rounders, Badminton and Handball. At Key Stage 4 all students participate in physical activity whether it is the GCSE Full course, Sports Leaders and Games. Our large and enthusiastic department is dedicated to ensure that all students have the opportunities to succeed and enjoy all aspects of sport. We work well as a team and are keen to help offer all students the chance to shine.

Greensward Academy is the lead academy of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-Academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfil their real potential. The academy is located in Hockley, Essex and has excellent road and rail links.
