Job Purpose

To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional, corporate  life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the  agreements of the SNCT.

Requirements
Essential Criteria:

Full GTC (Scotland) registration
PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made.

Desirable criteria:

EAL/ESL/EFL/ESOL teaching qualifications
Other relevant post-graduate qualification

Responsibilities

Working Knowledge of 5-14 curriculum, Curriculum for Excellence and/or secondary curricula
Experience of good planning and assessment of pupil learning and effective reporting on pupil progress
Experience of good classroom management
Willingness to undertake further appropriate training
Experience of mainstream class teaching
Ability to manage effectively the learning and teaching of individual pupils, groups and classes
Proven organisational skills
Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills when communicating with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers
Able to provide a good role model for pupils
Ability to move between schools as required by EAL Service
