We are seeking to appoint an outstanding class teacher to enthuse and inspire our pupils. This position may suit an NQT.

The successful candidate will be:

  • an outstanding KS2 practitioner;
  • creative, passionate and flexible about learning with high expectations of all pupils;- highly motivated and ambitious;
  • prepared to participate fully in school life;
  • eventually able to lead a subject area within the school.

Teachers and pupils enjoy being at Roysia. We are a small but growing 2 form entry 9-13 middle school. We have excellent facilities, admin and learning support and are well regarded in the Community. Parents like our inclusive ethos and friendly family feel. We maintain small classes and achieve good results with all our pupils. Learning for all our staff, as well as our pupils, is a high priority for the school. We offer a comprehensive induction program and you can expect to be well supported throughout your career at Roysia. The school became an academy in November 2011, in federation with its two partner schools, forming the Royston Schools Academy Trust.

Roysia Middle School is a mixed, mainstream, secondary school in Royston, Hertfordshire. It caters to students aged 9 to 13 and has approximately 167 pupils enrolled. 

Roysia Middle School became part of the Royston Schools’ Academy Trust in November 2011 alongside Greneway Middle School and Meridian Upper School. The school boasts well-equipped science labs, a technology workshop, a food technology room, a gym and library.

Their motto is, ‘We care; they flourish’. The school aims to provide a caring and nurturing environment so that every child can achieve their full potential. Their three main values are teamwork, communication and caring. They aim to teach students how to celebrate successes and learn from failure. The school also prioritises communication between pupils and parents and tries to ensure every child’s voice is heard and their needs are met. 

The curriculum is broad and balanced and offers a wide range of academic subjects to help develop each student’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Roysia holds specialist status in maths and computing but offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities from art, cricket and orchestra to drama, rugby, rounders and table tennis.
