The Governors seek to appoint an energetic and imaginative art teacher who is an outstanding classroom practitioner to join the successful Faculty of Visual Arts. CTC Kingshurst Academy is an oversubscribed 11-18 school in Kingshurst, East Birmingham. It is situated close to the NEC, Birmingham International Airport and its location is convenient for motorway links.

We are a large, diverse and forward looking department with a prominent profile within the school and wider community. We deliver a range of courses in Art & Design, and Textiles.

The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of courses at all key stages including delivering and supporting our KS4 OCR GCSE subjects and delivering on the BTEC Level three extended diploma in art and design. A knowledge of fine art, photography and life drawing would be an advantage but not essential. Our facilities are good offering a diverse range of opportunities to enhance our students learning.

Visual Arts is a very successful department and attracts large numbers of students. The facilities are impressive and include two dedicated post-16 teaching areas, large and well-resourced, bespoke classrooms, a kiln room and darkroom.

A well established and supportive induction programme is provided for all new staff and comprehensive child protection procedures are in place. Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers and experienced staff are welcomed.
