Teacher of Art and Photography

An opportunity has arisen for you to join our highly focused, dedicated staff in the role of teacher of Art. Teaching across key stages 3,4 and 5 we are looking for an excellent practitioner who can deliver innovative and creative lessons which challenge and engage students to progress academically and develop personally during their time at the academy. Please review the attachments for; What it is like to work as a teacher at The Holgate Academy.

The opportunity

This post would suit either a new entrant to the profession or an experienced teacher. We would welcome a teacher returning to work after a career break and will consider part time or flexible working where possible. 

We endeavour to utilise each teacher's specialism and offer the opportunity to teach A level in our sixth form centre for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will:      

• Have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of students by equipping them for future success      
• Have high expectations of themselves and the ability to instil these in staff and students alike   
•  Be an excellent teacher and a committed team player          
•  Be invested in enabling student progress, whilst also developing the students holistically         
• Deliver innovative and creative lessons which engage and challenge students to achieve their full potential          

 Essential

• Clarity of purpose and student-centred vision   
• Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour 
• Experience of raising attainment in a differentiated classroom environment

We have around 1400 students, with 11-16 education being based on the main site, and Post 16 provision shared with our partners. The Academy is part of the Diverse Academies Trust.
