REF: SCH/12033TR

We are seeking to appoint, for September 2015 an exceptional teacher of Art who is committed to delivering high quality, engaging lessons. Teaching will be at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Applications will be welcome from those seeking a first teaching post. An ability to contribute to the teaching of Food Technology would be desirable, but not essential.

Guru Nanak Sikh Academy was established as a Sikh voluntary aided secondary school in September 1999. In September 2012 it merged with Guru Nanak Primary School to form an ‘all through’ academy. The School is popular with parents and is heavily oversubscribed. Students attend the School from homes in Ealing, Hounslow and Slough as well as from its ‘home’ LA, Hillingdon. Because of its popularity, the School has expanded to its present six forms of entry. The present Sixth Form roll of c.100 will also see significant increase.

Since 2013 the Academy has been designated a teaching school. In consequence it offers outstanding induction support to newly qualified teachers as well as wide ranging CPD opportunities to all its teachers.

The most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2014 resulted in Grade 2 'Good' being designated in every category. All our students and their parents have a powerful commitment to the value of education. The Academy therefore offers a very positive classroom environment to all its teachers.

The teaching day is made up of seven, forty five minute lessons. There are fully equipped rooms for teaching Art, located in a departmental suite. All rooms in the School have computer and whiteboard facilities. The successful applicant will be joining a friendly, hard-working School. Teaching staff originate from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds.
