Alfreton Grange School is situated in the town of Alfreton, Derbyshire. The school delivers an 11-18 curriculum and has around 450 pupils on roll. Alfreton Grange School was placed in ‘special measures’ in 2013. Recent monitoring visits have shown that the school is making required progress to remove special measures.
The Torch Academy Gateway Trust has now begun working with the leadership team at Alfreton Grange to begin to further develop the school. With a new building scheduled to open in January 2017 we envisage a fresh start for a school that has a loyal community of parents/carers and students. Working with local businesses we aim to develop a curriculum that is focussed upon ensuring students will be work ready, flexible and ambitious. Equally we want to nurture students who are independent learners, respectful and caring. In simple terms we aim to establish a new school learning culture and one that establishes the school as a centre of learning excellence for the long term.
