Fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing school in West London where everyone strives for success.

About the role:

They are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Business to join a dedicated and friendly Business department. You will contribute to developing the Academy into a great school by teaching a high-standard curriculum that will encourage students to have a passion for the subject, allowing them to reach their full potential.

They are looking for someone who shares their belief in disciplinary thinking and who will help improve and refine their curriculum thinking.

Their ideal candidate will:

  • Combined subject matter expertise with a passion for teaching Business
  • Have the commitment, skills and character required to be a team player
  • Share the Academy's vision and be aligned with the six pillars underpinning it
  • Value and support practices driving continued progress across the network of schools

About the Academy:

They are a diverse and vibrant academy, having every language on the DfE census represented in the Academy and they are proud to be a true comprehensive school and they maintain this comprehensive intake right through to their 6th form. They place the curriculum – what they teach – at the heart of the academy and it informs all decisions they make.

In the words of Alex Standish, they believe that “school subjects then are a way of inducting children into the intellectual habits of humankind, and hence into a disciplinary conversation about knowing their world” and they are looking for someone who shares this belief to join their team.

Benefits of Working at the Academy:

The Academy have stripped away anything they feel gets in the way of being a great teacher so that they can focus on the main thing. This includes:

  • Feedback policies that sit at department level
  • No graded lesson observations
  • No report writing
  • No parent’s evenings
  • Only 2 data points a year
  • No ½ termly data metrics to track progress
  • Protected Department meeting and co-planning time built into the timetable and a teacher’s overall loadings.

They are heavily committed to staff welfare and development, and this includes:

  • weekly staff training and coaching for every teacher
  • Subject-specific knowledge development
  • free use of their leisure centre
  • access to the school counsellor
  • access to Academy’s employee rewards and benefits programme.
