Job overview

An Environment that Inspires

The Science Department at Caterham is one of the most successful departments in the School and has been awarded no fewer than seven Good Schools Guides Awards in the last seven years, it is now rated as one of the best in the Country. But that’s only one measure of our success. We are totally committed to ensuring that all of our students achieve their full potential and gain a place at the University of their choice. Providing high quality teaching and learning is a vital part of this, but so too is encouraging innovative practical work and inspiring a passion for Science.

We provide the perfect environment for both you and your students to succeed – The Science Faculty has recently moved into a multi-million pound Science block with four new fully equipped laboratories, a new spacious prep room and our teaching programme is augmented by inspiring Science trips. So join our thriving department and we can promise you an environment of exceptional variety and potential.

Working as part of the Science team you will be responsible for teaching Chemistry up to Oxbridge level. An experienced teacher, or possibly new to the profession, you will have outstanding communication skills, a stimulating approach to teaching and a passion for your subject. You will also be keen to play a full and active part in the life of the School, therefore the ability and willingness to become involved in, and contribute to, other co-curricular activities will be essential.

The salary will be in accordance with the Caterham Scale (significantly above National scales).

In 2014 Caterham School was ranked by The Times as one of the top 10 co-educational day and boarding schools in England. Our beautiful 200 acre campus is about five minutes’ drive from J6 of the M25 – and a short walk from the local station. So isn’t it time you joined us?
