Job overview

Ashlawn was graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted 2007 and again in 2013 in all categories, in the main school and our sixth form.  We are a popular and oversubscribed co-educational, comprehensive, bi-lateral school with 1751 students on roll, 425 of whom are in the Sixth Form. Ashlawn is a lead school in Warwickshire for Gifted and Talented learning.

We wish to appoint well-qualified talented teacher of Chemistry. Ashlawn Science department is a large, thriving department, and we are striving to constantly improve results. Chemistry is taught as a separate subject in KS4 and A level.  We have 14 well resourced laboratories for teachers to carry out practical activities in all aspects of Science.

Ashlawn students are enthusiastic, talented and keen to succeed and we are looking for a colleague who can enable this: to inspire young people with a passion for learning, to equip them with skills and knowledge and to transform their lives.

The successful candidate will be ambitious for their career development as much as for the achievement of young people:  As a National Support School, we offer fantastic professional development opportunities within and beyond the school.  In 2011 Ashlawn became an Academy Trust which retains the same values and principles that are the foundations of the school’s success and upon which we intend to go beyond ‘outstanding’ to becoming a truly world class school.  We were inspected by OFSTED in November 2013 and achieved “Outstanding” in all categories.

Enthusiasm, proven ICT capabilities and commitment to high quality teaching and learning are an essential requirement of the above post.

Further details are available from the Ashlawn School website at www.ashlawn.org.uk under Vacancies.  Please note we do not accept CVs.

Closing date: 12 NOON ON MONDAY 9th MARCH 2015

Ashlawn School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
