Job overview
“This outstanding school exemplifies the very best in educational provision”* OFSTED 2010
Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, Yardleys is a heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic convertor academy with 920 students on roll. We are proud of our academic record with 57% of students gaining 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths, and 100% of students achieving 5 or more passes A*-G.
The DT department is a well-established supportive team which achieves excellent results. In the summer of 2014 80% of students achieved an A*-C in Design Technology with 40% of students achieving four levels of progress.
We wish to appoint an ambitious, creative and dynamic Teacher of Design Technology, willing to contribute to the development of the DT curriculum. Familiarity with the specification and the new curriculum would be an advantage. NQTs are welcome to apply and for such candidates payment from July is available. As well as strengths in planning we are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to use data to inform their teaching and expand upon our use of future technologies.
Yardleys offers a commitment to professional development opportunities, well behaved students who are keen to learn and state of the art facilities. We also offer all our staff enrolment on the Benenden healthcare scheme.
