We seek to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and innovative Teacher of Drama who is an outstanding practitioner – or who has the potential and drive to become one. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.

The Drama Department at Bishop Challoner is a great place to work. The department is well established and benefits from excellent facilities. The successful candidate will work under an experienced Head of Drama. The Department of Drama is part of the Creative Arts Faculty. There is a hard-working, student-focussed, friendly professional atmosphere among the staff, all of whom are passionate about fostering a love of their subjects among our students. Drama is a popular subject at the school and is taught at GCSE and A-level as well as through extracurricular activities.

We are looking for professionals with:

  • Evidence of excellent classroom practice or the potential to become outstanding in the classroom
  • Good subject knowledge
  • A willingness to teach all key stages (3-5). Experience at A-Level is preferred but not essential
  • The enthusiasm and skills to lead rehearsals and other extra-curricular activities
  • High expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour, and the skills to achieve those
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • Support of our Christian Ethos
