Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.  The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.

  • Registered or eligible to be registered with GTC Scotland Able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Good communicator, orally and written
  • Genuine interest in children and their families
  • Commitment to working in partnership with parents
  • Commitment to collegiate working
  • Adaptable and willing to try new ways of working
  • Considerate, helpful and approachable

Desirable Criteria

  • Willing to undertake further professional development and training
  • Competent in the use of ICT, including application to learning and teaching
  • Interested in whole school developments and the wider life of the school

About Inverurie Academy

Inverurie Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in the town of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. It is a community state school. There is a school roll of around 1,100 secondary students between the ages of 12 and 18.

At the heart of the Inverurie community, the new community campus was opened in 2020. With state of the art facilities including science, food and design technology departments, specialist SEN facilities, general teaching spaces, sports facilities, reception, library and offices. The bright and modern community campus reflects the latest thinking in curriculum delivery
